Senior Quality Assurance Tester

Summary

NuvoLogic Consulting is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Tester to collaborate with the Scrum team in developing comprehensive test plans for data analytics tools and GIS products supporting disaster management efforts at SBA's Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience. The tester will perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, maintain automated test scripts, identify defects, and provide regular reports on testing progress.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing, preferably in an Agile or Scrum environment
• Experience testing data analytics tools, GIS products, or similar software solutions is a plus
• Experience with manual and automated testing processes and tools
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Scrum team to understand product requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and strategies
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing on various data analytics tools, GIS products, and associated software
• Implement and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing frameworks to streamline testing processes
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using bug tracking software such as JIRA
• Collaborate with developers and data scientists to troubleshoot and resolve issues, retesting fixes to ensure defects have been addressed
• Provide regular reports on testing progress, including test coverage, defect rates, and key metrics to stakeholders
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test summaries
• Execute performance and security tests where applicable, ensuring the resilience and security of data analytics products
• Continuously assess the testing process and recommend improvements to ensure efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness in delivering high-quality products

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB or similar testing certification is preferred
• Public sector or disaster management experience is a plus
