Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

Summary

Join CompanyCam as a Senior Backend Engineer and contribute to a remote-first team building and maintaining the platform. You will work on a variety of projects, from small improvements to large-scale initiatives, owning projects from start to finish. Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 4+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
• Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq in a production environment
• Strong understanding of backend fundamentals - building APIs, managing background jobs, and debugging performance or reliability issues in a large, evolving Rails monolith
• You live and work permanently in the U.S

Responsibilities

• Help ensure that CompanyCam's engineers have everything they need to be happy and productive
• Enhance monitoring to help teams better track performance as we scale
• Update our eventing library
• Refine our Sidekiq queue management
• Speed up our local development environment
• Own a project from start to finish
• Pitch your own ideas to continually improve our platform and processes
• Actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our backend engineering discipline
• Effectively scaling codebases and iterating on processes as part of a growing team
• Mentoring to help our devs grow

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, etc.)
• Experience with ElasticSearch
• Experience with MongoDB
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with GraphQL

• Our salary range is $165,000 - $190,000 per year and is based on experience
