Senior Ruby Software Engineer

Summary

Join our remote team as a Senior Ruby Software Engineer! Develop and maintain core Rails applications powering our media network used by millions. Work remotely or in a flexible regime in Curitiba, Brazil, collaborating with teams in Europe and North America. This role requires 5+ years of web development experience, proficiency in Ruby and another language, and experience with Rails and PostgreSQL. You'll design, build, and maintain efficient code, identify and solve problems, and contribute to code quality. Competitive daily rate in USD is offered.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in web development projects
• Experience working with front-end and back-end development
• 5+ years of development experience
• Proficient in Ruby and at least one other programming language (Python, PHP, etc)
• Experience with Rails or a similar MVC framework (django, symfony)
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database
• Good understanding of object oriented programming
• Good understanding of Chef/Puppet or a similar configuration management tool
• Comfortable following the best practices like testing (rspec), refactoring and writing clear, self-documenting code

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code
• Ensure the best possible performance and quality for our code
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally experience with AWS (S3, EC2, CloudFront, etc.)
• Ideally experience with Ember.js or a similar Javascript framework
