Senior Shopify Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a part-time Senior Shopify Expert and contribute to a Series A startup revolutionizing independent retail. You will design, implement, and maintain integrations and data pipelines within the Shopify ecosystem, enhancing retail operations and supporting full-stack development initiatives. This role requires deep knowledge of Shopify APIs, Liquid templates, and Shopify POS, as well as proficiency in various programming languages. You will work 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule and collaborate with a team to build and maintain integrations, develop data pipelines, and enhance the Shopify ecosystem. Requirements

• Availability to work 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule
• Deep knowledge of Shopify APIs, Liquid templates, and Shopify POS
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js
• Experience integrating POS systems with eCommerce platforms
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and data pipelines
• Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
• Collaboration & Communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical concepts clearly

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain integrations and data pipelines within the Shopify ecosystem
• Enhance retail operations, ensuring seamless connectivity between platforms and supporting full-stack development initiatives
• Build and maintain integrations with Shopify POS and other POS systems
• Develop pipelines to sync inventory and sales data across platforms
• Enhance the Shopify ecosystem with new features
• Support front-end and back-end initiatives
• Manage third-party API connections for inventory and order management
• Monitor performance, resolve issues, and improve efficiency
• Work cross-functionally and mentor junior team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify Plus and enterprise-level integrations
• Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, and hosting services
• Experience managing development projects for timely delivery
