Summary

Join Dayshape, an award-winning software scale-up, as a Site Reliability Engineer. You will be part of the Site Reliability Engineering BAU team, focusing on managing and improving Dayshape's cloud estate in Azure. The role involves automating tasks, enhancing observability, optimizing costs, and improving incident management. You will also mentor junior team members and participate in an on-call rotation. Requirements

  • Be operationally minded and have a bias towards operational improvement through process and automation
  • Be well organised and eager to bring organisation to chaotic scenarios
  • Extensive experience working as a site reliability engineer
  • Working within an established SRE team and be able to talk through the key principles of managing a large infrastructure estate
  • Monitoring infrastructure and applications hosted using taking into consideration: Observability, Alerting, Uptime SLA’s and SLO’s
  • Azure Devops pipeline management
  • Strong collaboration with both engineering teams and colleagues in customer-facing teams
  • Excellent communicator both in written and verbal forms
  • Comfortable breaking down big tasks into small chunks, solving tricky problems and tackling risks
  • Be able to keep a cool head in pressure situations, maintaining a problem-solving mindset, but also knowing when to escalate
  • Guiding and mentoring more junior team members

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve management of our cloud estate in Azure
  • Improve our ability to scale the BAU team through automation of manual tasks, and delivery of self-service tooling
  • Improve the observability of Dayshape through reporting and tool creation
  • Drive improvements to our Cost of Giving Service (COGS)
  • Diagnose, triage, investigate and manage escalated issues
  • Drive improvements to our incident management and reporting processes
  • Carry out daily and weekly estate management tasks such as deployments and other change requests
  • Support, mentor, and coach other members of the team
  • Be part of an Out Of Hours on-call rota (one week in 6 roughly)
