Join Jobber's Product Software Engineering team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and contribute to building and maintaining a cutting-edge product supporting millions of entrepreneurs. Collaborate with the cloud infrastructure team, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code principles and working with AWS. Develop and maintain local tooling, participate in on-call rotation, and mentor others. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in cloud environments (AWS preferred), IaC using Terraform, continuous deployment optimization, and relevant programming languages. Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in providing systems support within a cloud environment, preferably AWS and its various services
- Experience with IaC using Terraform
- Experience optimizing and improving continuous deployment performance
- The ability to juggle multiple projects and incident management
- Relevant experience in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, or Bash
- A deep passion for learning, reliability, automation, orchestration, and continuous improvement
- A strong commitment to problem-solving and a keen interest in technology
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams even in challenging high-pressure situations
- Sought out and learned the most effective practices and tools to hone your craft, including how to effectively incorporate AI, even if it isn't broadly adopted in your current company
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of our AWS infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code principles
- Develop and maintain local tooling for development and observability tools, including deployment tools and interfaces into AWS, CircleCI, and other infrastructure components
- Actively participate in our on-call rotation, actively contributing to the enhancement of the on-call experience for the team
- Leverage AI tools to augment your capabilities while maintaining engineering judgment and standards
- Work closely with your peers to mentor others and build relationships, ensuring that everyone understands how their role impacts others Jobber wide
- Lean on your leadership skills on the McCloud Team to drive results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Ruby on Rails, GQL, React applications in a production environment
- Experience with security, scalability and observability
- Kubernetes experience (we are moving the team in that direction)
