Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Summary

Join SMG Swiss Marketplace Group as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and play a pivotal role in architecting and maintaining the infrastructure for leading online marketplaces like Ricardo.ch, Tutti.ch, and Anibis.ch. You will leverage Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm to manage infrastructure as code and orchestration. Develop internal tooling to streamline workflows and enhance CI/CD pipelines. Act as an enabler for the engineering team, fostering a DevOps approach and driving product improvements. Stay updated on technology trends and apply them to enhance our products. Monitor and optimize performance for a smooth user experience and cost efficiency. This role requires substantial experience in a development language (Go, Java, C#, C/C++, or similar) and proficiency in Kubernetes and Terraform. The position is based in France and requires a valid work permit.

Requirements

• Must have substantial experience in a development language such as Go, Java, C#, C/C++ or similar
• Willingness to Learn: Regardless of your primary language, you will need to learn and work with the Go language
• Proficiency in Kubernetes
• Familiarity with GCP/AWS or any other cloud provider
• Knowledge of Istio for service mesh management
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus (Mimir/Cortex), Tempo, and Loki
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as CircleCI or Github Actions
• Familiarity with Cloudflare for optimizing performance and security

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the infrastructure powering Ricardo.ch , Tutti.ch , and Anibis.ch using Terraform for the infrastructure as code management as well as Kubernetes and Helm for efficient orchestration
• Develop internal tooling to streamline the workflow of software engineers and enhance our product evolution, improving CI/CD via automated pipelines for fast, reliable delivery
• Act as an enabler for the Engineering team, facilitating improvements to our products in a DevOps approach
• Stay abreast of current trends in technology and leverage them to enhance our products
• Performance monitoring and optimisation for a smooth user experience and optimized costs
