Requirements

  • Clearance: Secret Clearance Required
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 5 - 7 Years of Experience or a Master's Degree with 3 - 5 Years of Experience in Cloud Engineer, System Engineer, Dev Sec Ops Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer experience (Degree is negotiable with 10 - 13 years of IT-related experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or related roles, with specific focus on AWS environments
  • Security + Certification or Equivalent (DoD Approved 8570 – IAT Level II)
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
  • Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and architecture
  • Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible
  • Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipeline tools, particularly Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of Agile principles, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies
  • Experience with Zero Trust security principles and implementation
  • Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with meticulous attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintenance of scalable and reliable infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure services using Jenkins and Drone
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Ensure compliance with DoD STIGs and NIST 800-53 revision 4/5 standards
  • Lead initiatives to improve cloud hygiene and implement cost-effective strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure AWS GovCloud infrastructure are reliable, scalable, and supportable, tackling new challenges as they arise
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and tools to enhance the reliability and scalability of the infrastructure
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, including consulting on refactoring to improve infrastructure as code (IaC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
