Summary

You will drive end-to-end development of complex Android applications, mentor engineers, and shape technical direction. Requirements

  • Deep expertise in native Android development with Java and Kotlin
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working in the Android ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of modern architecture patterns like MVVM and MVC
  • Proven experience integrating popular Android libraries
  • Solid grasp of secure coding practices, including code obfuscation and encryption tools (HTTPS, TLS, Android KeyChain API)
  • Clear, effective communication across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Initiative and resourcefulness to work independently, resolve complex challenges, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with a focus on supporting others and driving team success
  • Passion for continuous learning, staying updated on best practices, and sharing knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of high-quality Android solutions, collaborating closely with your team and stakeholders to meet goals, solve challenges, and drive project success
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements, provide feedback, and communicate progress
  • Solve complex technical challenges by analyzing root causes, debugging, and developing efficient solutions while documenting your process for transparency
  • Lead design of scalable, secure Android features, collaborating with cross-functional teams and clearly communicating design decisions
  • Drive full-cycle Android development with Java and Kotlin, ensuring quality and keeping the team and leadership aligned on progress
  • Mentor team members to improve skills, code quality, and product value through feedback and technical support
  • Own code quality through unit and functional testing, collaborate with QA on automation, and conduct detailed code reviews with actionable feedback
  • Contribute to engineering standards by recommending improvements, presenting data-backed proposals, and facilitating Agile team consensus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Xamarin, KMM)
  • Experience with advanced encryption frameworks and utilities (HTTPS, TLS, SHA-256, Cipher Block Chaining)
  • Experience integrating with third-party devices (watches, heart monitors, payment terminals)
  • Understanding of client-server architecture and messaging patterns (Pub/Sub, Producer/Consumer)
