Summary

Join Abnormal Security as a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and release secure service-to-service communication frameworks and toolings, customer data security and privacy workflows, and integrate them with security operational analytics and auditing services. The ideal candidate will have a practical security mindset, ability to translate security requirements into technical requirements, and facilitate cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Strong software development, CAP theorem, and system design tradeoffs
  • Experience with Authentication & Authorization and Network Security problem space, best practices, and related technologies
  • Ability to differentiate must-have versus nice-to-have Security and Privacy requirements
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects and delivering high quality software
  • Experience with Golang and Python programming languages

Responsibilities

  • Apply Practical Security mindset and principles to technical design and development while balancing out business requirements and infrastructure cost
  • Own, lead, and deliver large projects for the Platform Security team that enforces Security & Privacy standards to continuously support the company market expansion toward many geographical locations and multiple product offerings
  • Design and develop secure and scalable customer integration frameworks and toolings to integrate Abnormal ecosystem with external applications such as Salesforce, Slack, Github, Zoom, etc… to enable Secure by design Multi Product Platform
  • Reconcile Platform and Security requirements to build a secure platform while enabling global engineering teams to deliver high quality software at high velocity
  • Actively mentor and level up junior team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to convert business problems into technical deliverables
  • Ability to prioritize, articulate business tradeoffs, and cut scopes to deliver the most important business objectives in a timely manner
  • Experience leading small teams delivering multi-quarter projects or initiatives
