Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed, fault-tolerant systems
• DevOps/Infrastructure engineering experience using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
• Proficiency in Golang and/or Rust is strongly preferred
• Should have experience with observability solutions for large distributed systems
• Prior involvement in open source projects and public communications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure distributed systems
• Develop and support infrastructure using IaC practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up observability for large systems using tools such as Open Telemetry, CloudWatch, and DataDog
• Engage in open-source communities, representing XMTP Labs effectively in public forums

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the internals of distributed databases
• Experience contributing to a Layer 1 blockchain
• Knowledge of messaging systems and protocols
