Requirements
- 2+ years working with Snowflake vs. Databricks vs. RedShift vs. BigQuery
- 2+ years working with ETL processes feeding into the data warehouse
- 3+ years of experience with at least one programming language like Java, Python, NodeJS
- 1+ years of experience with AWS
- Experience in Snowflake performance optimization patterns and security best practices
- Experience in Clustering of data and Micro-Partitioning in Snowflake
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Like Mongo or DynamoDB)
- Knowledge of Jenkins for continuous integration and End-to-End automation for application build and deployments
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment that requires independent self-direction, strong attention to detail, and an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Help set up patterns for re-use, and standards, and help set best practices for Data Engineering
- Be a maker and a breaker of strategies and workflows
- Work with a team to use and optimize Snowflake schemas. Take part in technical decisions for your team and help influence technical decisions across your functional domains
- Work with other engineering teams and with members of the product organization to distill internal and customer needs into requirements and tech specs
- Participate in lunch and learn and other technical knowledge-sharing events like our quarterly hackathons
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Big Data processing technology (Flink, Spark, AirFlow-ish, etc...)
- Experience with. NoSQL (Mongo, Couchbase, DocumentDB, Cassandra, etc)
- Experience with Data Warehouse (Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift etc...)
- Experience with Cloud (AWS preferred)
- Experience with streaming technologies and functional programming
- Experience in Snowpipe for handling Streaming data
- Experience with processing at scale
- Confluent development work
- Strong Communication Skills and ability to communicate ideas effectively
- Demonstrated passion for technology
- Not afraid of failure and willing to fail fast so you can move onto new ways of doing things
