Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Canva's Cloud FinOps team and help redefine how the world experiences design. Based in Sydney or Auckland, this role offers flexible work arrangements. Requirements

• Proficiency in Golang or Python; willingness to upskill in either
• Deep knowledge of Computer Engineering fundamentals
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3) or equivalent
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC); experience with Terraform preferred, but other tools acceptable
• Experience owning, tracking, and delivering goals, working independently and in teams
• Ability to guide and mentor team members and improve collaboration, learning, and idea sharing
• Curiosity and enjoyment of discovering new areas and understanding areas outside of expertise; solving problems with technical ideas and solutions
• Excitement about designing solutions at scale, pragmatically planning for maximum value with low cost, and working with many collaborators

Responsibilities

• Develop new features, functionality, and optimizations
• Design, build, and lead discussions around team products
• Support answering questions from product teams and company leaders
• Work with engineering teams to improve cloud architecture for cost optimization
• Work with the FinOps data platform, tuning and maintaining it
• Champion the FinOps culture at Canva
