Summary
Join Datadog as a Software Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of OpenTelemetry pipelines within the Datadog Agent. You will build high-performance observability pipelines, simplify customer onboarding, review community contributions, and participate in issue resolution. Requirements
- You have been building software for 5+ years and know the systems you’ve worked on from top to bottom
- You have significant experience in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, Rust, .NET or C/C++

Responsibilities
- Develop high-performance OTel observability pipelines in the Datadog Agent, running on customers’ infrastructures and targeting a large number of platforms / environments / deployment models, with Datadog-specific and upstream OpenTelemetry contributions
- Simplify customers’ onboarding and management of OTel pipelines with Fleet Management capabilities
- Review community contributions to Datadog-related components of OTel
- Take part in investigating and fixing issues with the internal production deployment of the Datadog Agent
- With your team, be a driving force in product decisions and plan the most important projects to work on next
Preferred Qualifications
- You have experience building and shipping packaged or downloadable software
- You are familiar with OpenTelemetry
- You have contributed to or have an official role in Open Source projects
- You have significant experience in using profilers, debuggers, tracers, or similar tools to improve the code quality of the software you’re writing
