Summary

The job is for a Senior Backend Engineer in Grafana Cloud, a remote observability platform. The role involves building and maintaining microservices, data pipelines, and visualizations. Requirements

• You have at least 1 year of fully remote work experience
• You have worked on a big SaaS platform and dealt with common distributed systems problems
• Care deeply about developer and user experience and the quality of the products that you work on
• Have experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others
• Have experience with mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative but asynchronous environment
• Can take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve tight learning loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback, and then progress iteratively
• You are willing to work across teams. Your work has to be aligned with the needs of other squads and external stakeholders. You make your plans transparent, bring stakeholders on board, and are open to feedback and suggestions

Responsibilities

• Reducing time to value for customers across a broad range of products by creating new data pipelines
• Writing efficient algorithms for processing, storing, and retrieving data
• Improving customer experience by providing opinionated solutions and recommendations for their workflows
• Writing end to end integration tests and unit tests

Benefits

• In Canada, the Base compensation range for this role is CAD 146 ,000 - CAD 183,011. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process
