Summary

Join Heard as a Senior Software Engineer and lead the development of the financial back-office for therapists. This role centers on building and improving the Heard API and backend infrastructure. You will guide the architectural evolution, mentor team members, and refine team processes. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of software engineering experience, expertise in relevant technologies (Node, Express, AWS, Postgres), and a strong understanding of system architecture. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer or with experience with languages such as typescript
  • Proven experience building complex systems making decisions on scope, architecture, feasibility, and tradeoffs
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and taking a feature from idea to production
  • Observant and detail-oriented
  • Ability to write easily maintainable, well-structured code. You enjoy discussing the pros and cons of various architectural implementations
  • Business-minded, you consider the business impact when solving technical problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for teaching and sharing your knowledge
  • Comfortable with regularly providing feedback and open to receiving feedback
  • Experience in FinTech or working with products that have handled financial information before

Responsibilities

  • Lead and master the entire technology stack of the system built on Node, Express, AWS, and Postgres
  • Drive architectural evolution to support current and future requirements
  • Guide and accelerate the career growth of others, encouraging their active participation through mentorship and coaching
  • Adjust team processes, considering feedback and guiding the team through necessary changes
  • Extend influence beyond your team, reaching other teams and their technical and product-led roadmaps
