Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Huntress, a fully remote global cybersecurity company, as a Senior Software Engineer. You will be part of a team responsible for the end-to-end feature delivery of the Huntress EDR, a foundational component of the Huntress product suite. This role requires significant experience in software development, specifically with Ruby on Rails, and involves designing, developing, and releasing software features. Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing complex software products
• 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails
• Experience in Agile or Scrum environment
• Experience with JavaScript and CSS
• Experience working with external APIs
• Experience reviewing code, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting
• Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
• BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience gained through work experience

Responsibilities

• Own and drive projects from start to finish – engineering design, coding, testing, and rollout
• Hold a high bar for yourself and the team when it comes to code quality, scalability, and maintainability – through automated and manual testing, code reviews, and code pairing
• Work in all levels of the stack – frontend, backend, database, AWS, etc
• Actively engage and contribute to the team and new innovations
• Mentor, coach, and/or provide actionable feedback for teammates of all levels
• Provide high-quality, actionable feedback to teammates and your manager
• Break down complex work into milestones and stories
• Foster positive communication within the team and organization
• Propose team-level technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Cloud Environments
• Experience with Stimulus , Turbo , and/or Hotwire (or similar frameworks)
• Experience working in a Ruby on Rails monolith
• A passion for building platform capabilities
