As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of a whole-home energy management platform, build integrations with various connected devices, and work on a next-generation energy management platform for demand response management. You will also assist in building out the SaaS platform for utility partners and contribute to EV feature development. This role requires experience with Python, Javascript/Typescript, or JVM languages, cloud offerings (AWS), SQL (PostgreSQL), and web platform technologies. Requirements
- Be excited to work with any of the following: electric vehicles, smart thermostats, the electric grid, clean tech
- Be willing to step outside of your job title when needed
- Be eager to work on a small team of talented developers
- Be skilled with programming languages such as Python, Javascript/Typescript, or JVM languages (we use Python + Django, Typescript + React, and a bit of Kotlin + Spring Boot )
- Have experience with cloud offerings and architecture (we use AWS )
- Be proficient with SQL (we use PostgreSQL )
- Be familiar with web platform technologies such as REST APIs, OAuth, and nginx
Responsibilities
- Build integrations to an expanding array of connected devices contributing to the development of our whole home energy management platform, empowering consumers to saved money while supporting their local grids
- Aid in the creation of a next-generation energy management platform, a solution designed to facilitate demand response management
- Assist in building out our SaaS platform to streamline integration with our growing list of utility partners
- Contribute to ongoing EV feature development, with new features being added regularly
- Work on continuously evolving our system architecture to ensure scalability as our projects expand
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience with Machine learning/data science
- Have experience with UI/UX design
- Have experience with Feature design
- Have experience with Developer Enablement (CI/CD, automated test environments, etc. What ideas do you have?)
