Summary
Join Pulumi as a Senior Docs Infrastructure Engineer and contribute to a world-class documentation experience for our global community of cloud engineers. You will be part of the team responsible for the infrastructure behind Pulumiβs documentation website (pulumi.com/docs). This role involves improving documentation tooling and workflows, owning and maintaining the documentation and example code infrastructure, optimizing multi-language documentation generation, and managing build systems and assets. You will also oversee the CI/CD pipeline, enhance search indexing, and ensure smooth deployment of documentation changes. Your work will significantly impact our business, as our documentation serves as a critical resource for developers. This is a remote-first position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong background in software, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Experience in internal tooling or build/release engineering for documentation sites or similar
- Hands-on experience with static site generators (Hugo or familiarity with similar tools)
- Experience with Typescript and Node.js
Responsibilities
- Improve documentation tooling and workflows: Innovate on local development setups, Markdown/MDX rendering, and search functionality
- Own, maintain and enhance Pulumi's documentation and example code infrastructure
- Optimize multi-language documentation generation processes
- Manage build systems, templates, and assets: Upgrade and configure tools to optimize site performance and page load times
- Own the docs CI/CD pipeline: Oversee automated build, test, and deployment processes for documentation for the growing codebase
- Enhance our search indexing of documentation and registry to improve documentation discoverability
- Ensure documentation changes go live smoothly using Pulumiβs infrastructure-as-code deployments
- Implement automated previews, link checkers, and end-to-end tests (e.g., via Cypress)
