Senior Software Engineer

Summary

The role requires clean code writing, experience with scaling web applications, and comfort with on-call rotations. Longer hours are expected before elections, but recovery periods are provided.

Requirements

• Have experience with some aspects of scaling web applications – either through software testing, release management, dev-ops, or another aspect of software engineering
• Be motivated by doing work that has a positive impact on the world

Responsibilities

• Write clean, readable, and maintainable code
• Prioritize quality to guard against errors in production
• Join the night and weekend on-call rotation
• Work longer-than-normal hours during high-intensity periods before major elections

Preferred Qualifications

Have experience in Javascript/Typescript and React (with a little Elm thrown in), Node, and Postgres on AWS managed with Terraform
