Summary

Join Axon as a Senior Software Engineer I and collaborate with engineers to develop and implement scalable, high-performance frontend web applications. Work closely with cross-functional teams, lead architecture design reviews, and mentor junior engineers. Build and own the technical roadmap for mission-critical web applications, ensuring robust and maintainable code using React and other modern frameworks. The role requires strong collaboration skills and a commitment to improving engineering processes. Location is flexible, with the option to work remotely or from the Seattle R&D Hub. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing web applications
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks such as React
  • Experience with Redux, RxJS, TanStack Query or other state management libraries
  • Experience working with cloud based APIs and infrastructure
  • Strong experience with build and bundling tools like Webpack, Vite, or Rollup
  • Proficient with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)
  • Deep familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows like GitHub or GitLab
  • Experience in optimizing web application performance, including code splitting, lazy loading, and reducing Time to Interactive (TTI)

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the technical roadmap for mission-critical web applications
  • Implement robust, reusable, and maintainable code using React and other modern frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design to solve the team’s biggest technical challenges
  • Lead engineering architecture design reviews
  • Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews
  • Enjoy mentoring and growing engineers
  • Working across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions that delight our customers
  • Improve our Engineering process, including long-term thinking, sprint planning and stand-ups
  • Building that adhere to our high bar on availability and latency in this mission-critical space
