Senior Software Engineer, Guest & Host

Summary

Join Airbnb's Listing Backend team in China Mainland as a Senior Software Engineer and work on critical data projects supporting rapid product iteration. You will architect and implement complex projects, focusing on data-driven decision-making and performance optimizations. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate product requirements into technical solutions, and write clean, testable, and maintainable code. Help define and improve coding standards and development processes. This remote position offers occasional work at an Airbnb office or offsite attendance, with location dependent on legal working identity and Airbnb policies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience in a fast paced tech environment
• Experience working with one or more backend server languages (Java, Kotlin preferred), and expertise in relational databases and caching
• Strong coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications
• Data driven in how you solve problems and validate you’ve solved them correctly
• Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems
• Fluent in both Chinese and English. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well within engineering organization and cross functions
