Senior Software Engineer, Issuing

Summary

Join Lithic, a company building card issuing and payment infrastructure, as a Senior Software Engineer on their Issuing team. Lead the development of new card and account opening lifecycle features, including card issuance, tokenization, and KYC. Own initiatives from planning to launch, ensuring high API reliability and availability. Orchestrate cross-functional teamwork to design engineering standards and bring industry best practices to Lithic's APIs. Improve team systems and processes, and participate in on-call rotation. Become an expert in the card payments space, primarily using Python and Rust. This role requires experience shipping in a production environment and leading projects, strong distributed system skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new card and account opening lifecycle features (card issuance, tokenization, physical card manufacturing, KYB/KYC, document collection & applications)
• Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way
• Ensure high reliability and availability for Lithic’s API
• Orchestrate cross functional teamwork to design standards across all engineering teams
• Provide expertise to bring industry best practices to our APIs
• Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team
• Participate in the team on-call rotation

An interest in fintech and the payments space is preferred
