Senior Solution Architect

Summary

Join Fivetran's Services team as a Solution Architect and facilitate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Fivetran connectors. You will work directly with customers, defining requirements and optimizing implementations. A key aspect involves enabling customers to independently manage the installations. This role necessitates collaboration with various internal stakeholders. You will leverage your expertise in databases, data warehouses, and operating systems to troubleshoot and provide solutions. The position requires advanced SQL and command-line skills, along with strong communication and analytical abilities.

Requirements

• Experience with a non-CLI scripting language such as Python
• Must be strong in Kubernetes
• Experience in a broad range of databases, data warehouses and operating systems
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Advanced command-line knowledge, including scripting with the command-line
• Advanced knowledge of networking approaches, including SSH tunneling and VPNs
• A breadth of experience in the data integration and data replication space
• Advanced logical and analytical abilities to help solve problems and provide optimizations to databases, data warehouses, environments & networking approaches
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to effectively collaborate with customers and cross-functional internal stakeholders
• Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to complete multiple competing projects under tight deadlines for a range of customers
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the complete suite of Fivetran connectors
• Define requirements and work to facilitate an architecture and integration that fulfills those requirements
• Facilitate the optimization of the implementation through performance tuning
• Offer best-practice advice on source and target setup
• Troubleshoot issues technically
• Enable customers to take responsibility for the installation once it has been tested and is ready for deployment into a Production environment
• Produce enablement collateral and training teams to adopt what may be a new software application
• Liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders, triaging on various topics
• Get hands-on with installation of all types (application, database, file, and event) of Fivetran connectors
• Prepare environments for replication, which may involve SQL scripting or command-line operations to enable full transaction logging, archiving/backup and table analysis/preparation
• Configure high-volume database connectors through a mix of UIs and command-line operations
• Work with customer teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during implementation
• Data validation

• Enable customer teams to adopt and take ownership of Fivetran’s LDP connectors through training and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache Kafka, New Relic, Salesforce, REST APIs
• Experience with Data Lakes such as Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage and Microsoft ADLS2
• Knowledge of mainframe systems such as IBM iSeries
• SAP
• Docker or Podman
