Summary

Join our team as a Pre-Sales Engineer and contribute to the full sales lifecycle, from initial client meetings to post-award support. You will be responsible for cost modeling, risk assessment, proposal development, contract drafting, and service transition to operations. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with POS hardware installation projects, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and possesses knowledge of hardware maintenance and technology rollouts. Success in this position demands the ability to identify and mitigate risks, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple engagements within deadlines
  • Have knowledge on cost components of hardware maintenance and technology rollouts/refreshes
  • Have knowledge on priority language details – how to measure, risks associated with typical P1 & P2’s (i.e. cutoff for tickets received for same day service, % target attainment measurement, impact on geography/landscape of client sites)
  • Have the ability to identify unstated risks in scopes and ask questions to clarify and/or add stipulations to proposal to add protection for overruns
  • Have the ability to communicate details to a variety of resources with the relevant level of complexity (technical details, process details, risks, high level scope, cost and resources required to complete the services, etc)
  • Have experience with Point of Sale (POS) hardware installation projects
  • Be an Excel user familiar with pivot tables, vlookups, if statements, etc
  • Be a Word user familiar with Track Changes/redlines, ability to structure format for contracts with sections/numbering, etc
  • Follow standard naming conventions for files & file folders

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales Engineering (Including client meetings, create/coordinate questions based upon customer provided information to fully document scope of services, sales process delivery, etc.)
  • Cost Modeling for all Lines of Businesses inclusive of hardware or cabling maintenance, onsite support services, deployment projects, help desk, and structured cabling)
  • Risk assessment - Document stipulations and assumptions to support solution and minimize risk. Clearly articulate risks for internal stakeholders prior to delivering proposal as applicable
  • Sales Proposal Development & Creation to Include creation of customer proposals/quotes/RFP responses, development of operations timelines and assessments (i.e. FSL and sparing alignment, resource planning based upon cost modeling, etc.)
  • Draft Contract and Review (Includes NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, Vendor Agreements, Customer Agreements, etc.)
  • Transition awarded services to Operations & Billing Teams and participate in Transition Meetings as needed for a successful kick-off
  • Provide Support for operations team post award for clarification and/or changes to the scope

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable on cost components of hardware maintenance and technology rollouts/refreshes (help desk and/or structured cabling would be a plus)
  • Prior pricing/cost modeling experience
  • Business Analyst experience supporting process improvement for hardware maintenance
  • Leadership role in operations with focus on managing resources providing hardware maintenance field services, onsite support services or logistics services (with experience managing to a P&L)
