Summary

Join Noah Medical, a leading medical robotics company, as a Sr Staff Electrical Engineer. Design the electrical architecture for a next-generation endoluminal robotic platform, focusing on high-speed analog and digital design, high-speed data cabling, high voltage power architecture, embedded system design, FPGA, and motor controllers. You will design, build, and test electrosurgical and robotic controller boards, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with medical standards like IEC 60601 & ISO 13485. Thoroughly document designs and validation plans. Work with senior technical leads to bring innovative medical robotic systems to market. This role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (MS/PhD preferred) and extensive experience in medical device electrical system design.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Must have demonstrated ability to build complex electrical systems for medical devices
  • Expert in electrical CAD tools and PCBA design workflow
  • Altium experience required
  • Experience in the following areas: high-speed analog and digital design, embedded system design, FPGA, and motor controllers
  • Experience with Ethercat protocol
  • Extensive experience using oscilloscope, DMM, spectrum analyzer, LCR/network analyzer, and soldering equipment

Responsibilities

  • Design the electrical architecture for the next generation endoluminal robotic platform to support multiple clinical indications, focusing on high-speed analog and digital design, high-speed data cabling, high voltage power architecture, embedded system design, FPGA, and motor controllers
  • Design, build, and test the electrosurgical platform
  • Design, build, and test the robotic controller boards in collaboration with the robotic controls software engineering team
  • Own the specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematics, layout, prototype, validation, and manufacturing of PCBA’s
  • Thoroughly document design requirements, power budgets, and validation plans
  • Design for manufacturing, design for test and design for EMC/EMI
  • Work with senior technical leads from mechanical engineering, robotics controls software engineering, and other groups to bring novel medical robotic systems to market

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/PhD degree preferred
  • Familiar with embedded design and development in C/C++ preferred
