Summary
Join Energy Solutions, a growing company dedicated to climate solutions, as a Senior Engineer on the Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) team. You will contribute to programs that incentivize the adoption of DERs, including demand response, energy storage, and electric vehicle grid integration. This role involves analyzing the savings, costs, and impacts of energy-efficient technologies, developing calculation methodologies, writing technical reports, and supporting business development efforts. You will also lead project deliverables, manage budgets, and provide guidance to supporting staff.
Requirements
- A technical Bachelor's degree with a preference towards mechanical, electrical, environmental, or architectural engineering
- Minimum of 8 years' of engineering or work experience in related area
- Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and other energy codes
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, technical papers, and provide technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences
- Experience with data analysis, scripting, and large-scale simulations
- Project management experience including budget development and management
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Willingness to conduct occasional business travel
Responsibilities
- Equipment review, measure development, new measure support and research, data analysis, and program technical support
- Develop analysis of the savings, costs, and other impacts of energy efficient and low carbon technologies in the context of energy policy
- Develop calculation methodologies to estimate demand and demand response potential for non-residential and residential sectors
- Write reports on technical topics, such as Title 24 case reports, energy savings analysis, cost-effectiveness analyses, and code compliance
- Support development of proposals and business development efforts
- Work in a team environment to lead the overall direction, management, quality control, and completion of project deliverables
- Coordinate and communicate engineering topics between technical and non-technical staff
- Develop and lead both short-term and long-term strategies to optimize energy savings, load management potential, and GHG reductions through codes and standards or other energy policy proposals
- Lead the overall direction, management, quality control, and completion of project deliverables, within budget and on schedule, with minimal oversight
- Monitor the progress of projects and communicating progress to management and clients
- Provide oversight and guidance to supporting staff for quality and compliance
