Senior Staff Engineer

Summary

Join Energy Solutions, a growing company focused on market-based programs for energy and water savings, as a Senior Staff Engineer. You will leverage your expertise to lead technical efforts across projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposal development. This role involves overseeing engineering support for energy efficiency programs, communicating with clients, and analyzing energy-efficient technologies. The position requires leading cross-departmental engineering support and managing project deliverables, budgets, and schedules. Energy Solutions operates as a predominantly remote workforce with offices in six locations; however, applications from candidates in certain states are not being accepted at this time.

Requirements

• A Bachelors’ degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, environmental, architectural, or related field)
• A minimum of 10 years’ of engineering or work experience in related area
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and other energy codes
• Demonstrated ability to write reports, technical papers, and provide technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences
• Expertise in energy modeling, deep knowledge of EnergyPlus, and experience with large-scale simulations, and data analysis and scripting
• Project management experience including budget development and management
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Willingness to conduct occasional business travel

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering support for several energy efficiency programs, providing review and oversight to engineering support staff
• Communicate with clients on engineering needs and deliverables
• Analysis of energy efficient technologies in the context of energy policy
• Knowledge of state-documented energy savings methodologies through resources such as Technical Reference Manuals
• Lead the development of several market studies or technical projects
• Lead cross-department engineering support in at least one technology / domain area
• Lead cross-cutting engineering support for the Energy Efficiency Department in at least one technology / domain area
• Support development of proposals and business development efforts
• Lead the overall direction, management, quality control, and completion of project deliverables
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules and tasks with minimal oversight
• Monitor the progress of projects and communicating progress to management and clients
• Provide oversight and review of supporting staff for quality and compliance
• Supervision of junior engineering staff
