Senior Staff Software Engineer

As a Sr. Staff Engineer, you will design and implement scalable backend services, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive technical challenges in ingesting and processing petabytes of data daily.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience in designing and developing high-performance micro-service-based backend systems
• You’re passionate about building high-scale elegant and simple distributed systems - and during the past several years you’ve successfully designed & implemented them to solve complex problems
• You enjoy a collaborative development process using design discussions and code review
• You’re looking for the technical challenges of ingesting and processing petabytes of data daily
• You enjoy writing modern Java and/or Go
• You possess solid foundation on building data pipelines, experience with solving high volume streaming challenges
• You can identify relevant improvements/solutions in the literature & bring them into production when they fit
• Deep understanding of technology trade-offs and costs of different options, to keep the system stable and scalable
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and it’s ecosystem

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and efficient backend services
• Work with product managers & tech leads to break down and estimate tasks towards delivering any features to customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance the SentinelOne Security Data lake Cloud detection services
• Evangelize best practices in technology, including design patterns, algorithms, and data structures
• Anticipate, refactor, and mitigate potential bugs and vulnerabilities to ensure code quality and reliability
• Help team members solve problems and support them in their growth
• Review the work of other team members and provide constructive feedback
• Master the architecture and dependencies of the feature area and contribute to its design and architecture
