Summary

Join uMed's Patient Services team as a Senior Study Support Nurse for a 12-month contract. You will lead and guide the Help Desk and screening nurse teams, conduct patient screenings, maintain accurate study records, attend site meetings, provide guidance to specialists, follow up on patient queries, and ensure confidentiality. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to overcome barriers to understanding. You will screen participants for trials, provide training and support, and communicate with the multidisciplinary team. Remote work is available with quarterly in-person team days in London.

Requirements

  • Nursing & Midwifery Council Registered Nurse
  • At Least 2 years previous experience of Managing a team
  • Enhanced DBS Check will be completed
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice
  • Excellent communication and IT skills

Responsibilities

  • Taking a leadership role within the Patient Services team to support and guide the Help Desk team & screening nurse team
  • Conducting nurse screening calls to establish patients eligibility to a study
  • Providing accurate records of study progress for sponsor review
  • Attending meetings with study sites to track patient progress in study
  • Providing guidance to study support specialists working on the helpdesk
  • Following up patient queries
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act
  • Role modelling patient centred approach to wider uMed team members
  • Ensuring clear and accurate records are maintained
  • First line of support for Patient service team queries
  • Undertaking supportive tasks delegated by the Director of Patient services
  • Your main tasks will include screening participants for a variety of trials, providing training and support to trial participants and communicating with the multidisciplinary team
