Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Polish or international accountancy certification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate and VAT tax preparation in Poland, with proven expertise in Polish tax laws and experience liaising with Polish tax authorities
  • Experience handling tax audits and providing strategic tax advice
  • Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Fluency in Polish and English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns in line with Polish regulations
  • Manage VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Liaise with tax authorities and handle audits or inquiries
  • Provide strategic tax advice, identifying opportunities to reduce liabilities
  • Stay up to date with Polish tax legislation and assess its impact on the business
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient processes and structures
  • Prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements
  • Collaborate with the finance team on budgets and forecasts from a tax perspective, ensuring tax impacts are accurately reflected
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, providing insights into potential tax liabilities and opportunities for tax planning
  • Maintain robust internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting
  • Regularly review and audit tax processes to ensure adherence to both internal policies and external regulations
  • Provide training and support to finance and accounting staff on tax-related matters to ensure understanding and compliance with tax rules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ERP Dynamics NAV
  • Experience in tax planning and identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities
