Senior Tax Analyst Programmer

Summary

Join Wealthsimple Tax, Canada's largest and fastest-growing tax platform, as we help over one million Canadians file their taxes annually. This role offers the opportunity to lead NETFILE and/or NetFile Québec certification processes, analyze annual tax changes, provide tax guidance to the team, collaborate with Product and Engineering teams, and continuously improve processes. We seek someone with experience leading teams to achieve CRA and Revenu Québec certification, a deep understanding of federal personal taxation, and experience preparing personal tax returns. Spreadsheet proficiency and basic JavaScript knowledge are also required. The ideal candidate is a clear and concise writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of their work.

Requirements

• Has experience working on and leading teams to successfully achieve CRA and Revenu Québec certification
• Brings a deep understanding of federal personal taxation
• Has experience preparing personal tax returns in a professional context
• Is a spreadsheet whiz and excited about learning a little JavaScript
• Has the ability to take a complex tax issue and make it simple for people to understand
• Is a clear and concise writer
• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Takes pride in their work and has a strong sense of ownership

Responsibilities

• Help lead the NETFILE and/or NetFile Québec certification processes
• Analyze annual tax changes and implement them into our Tax product
• Use tax knowledge in providing guidance to the broader team when developing new features
• Engage with Product and Engineering teams to bring ideas to life
• Learn new things, and look for opportunities to make things better

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing Québec returns
• Bilingual or functionally fluent in French
• Coding experience
