Summary

Join GoFundMe's global tax team as a Senior Tax Associate and make a significant impact on our growing business. You will assist in preparing global corporate income tax provisions, enhance related models, and lead outsourced global direct and indirect tax compliance processes. Responsibilities include tax research, assisting with tax credits and incentives, establishing standard operating procedures, enhancing SOX documentation, and supporting tax audits. Cross-functional collaboration with finance, accounting, and other business units is expected. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of corporate tax experience, including income tax provisions, and strong tax research skills. A CPA is preferred.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of corporate tax experience, including experience with income tax provisions
  • Ability to perform tax technical and tax accounting research
  • BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business-related field required
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, from clerical staff to executives, and manage relationships with external parties
  • Self starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, manage and adhere to deadlines, and proactively drive results
  • Detail oriented and organized

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and automation of the global annual and quarterly income tax provision models under ASC 740
  • Coordination and detailed review of outsourced tax compliance for direct and indirect taxes globally
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including accounting, finance, treasury and legal
  • Support transfer pricing, R&D tax credit, and other specialty tax areas as needed
  • Monitor developments in tax accounting literature while assisting with documentation and maintenance of global corporate tax accounting policies
  • Assist with ongoing global direct and indirect tax nexus studies
  • Help identify and implement improvements to optimize the global tax accounting, compliance, and cash-tax forecasting processes
  • Assist with tax structuring initiatives related to the expansion of the business globally
  • Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
  • Maintain the global tax calendar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm preferred
  • CPA is preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system and experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Experience with companies in the financial technology or digital payments industry a plus
