As a Senior Technical Writer, you will create and maintain high-quality user documentation for our HR Compliance products, including guides, technical documentation, and videos. You will collaborate with Agile software development teams and cross-functional departments to deliver clear, accurate, and user-focused content. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented communicator who can manage multiple projects and champion user-centered documentation. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Technical Communication, English, Education, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience creating documentation for SaaS applications or software end users
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail, consistency, and quality
- Experience with single-sourcing documentation for multiple outputs and audiences
- Proficiency with Paligo (preferred) or similar Component Content Management Systems (CCMS) or HTML-based authoring tools
- Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., grammar checkers, content suggestion engines, auto-tagging/classification, or chat-based generation) to enhance content quality, efficiency, and consistency across documentation
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate documentation efforts across multiple project teams
- Develop and maintain effective documentation processes and standards
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in technical communication
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other writers on best practices
- Be embedded with the Product Management team to collaborate closely with multiple product teams
- Create, update, and maintain client-facing documentation including targeted articles, online help systems, and downloadable PDFs
- Collaborate with Development, QA, Technical Support, and Product Management throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure documentation meets internal and external requirements
- Analyze target audiences to determine the most effective structure, format, and delivery method for documentation
- Proactively identify and resolve documentation issues, leveraging internal resources to meet deadlines
- Adhere to established documentation standards, workflows, and style guidelines
- Assess, track, and prioritize incoming documentation requests across multiple product lines
- Learn and apply new tools and technologies with minimal supervision following initial training
- Monitor internal communication channels (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to identify documentation needs and propose solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, product launches, and cross-functional team meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of instructional design principles or experience with HTML/CSS is a plus
- Experience creating instructional or how-to videos is a strong advantage
- Experience and motivation using AI tools to increase your efficiency
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced Agile environment
