Senior UX Designer

Summary

Join Fleetworthy as a Senior UX Designer and lead the research and design of innovative solutions for mobile and desktop products. You will plan and define the strategic direction of future iterations, quickly iterate on design solutions, and advocate for design thinking. Collaborate with engineers and product managers throughout the production cycle, assess feature performance, and develop user-interface specifications. Present design work to various teams and senior leadership. Utilize user-centered design and research methodologies. This role requires a strong background in UX design, proven experience in creating user-centered solutions, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design
• Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
• Experience with developing and leading user research practices
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
• Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
• Experience in an Agile/scrum environment
• 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, or similar role
• A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead the design for new experiences and improvements to existing experiences
• Plan and define strategy for the direction of future iterations
• Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details
• Advocate for design thinking and solutions, highlighting inputs that influenced the decisions including business and user goals, demographic and usage data, as well as research findings
• Develop high-level, detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Ensure designs are user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, and produce results
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle
• Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics
• Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
• Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback
• Utilize user-centered design and research methodologies
