Summary

Join GoCanvas as a Senior UX/UI Designer and lead the design efforts across their product portfolio. This role involves collaborating with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to create user-centric designs that enhance the user experience and meet business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both UX and UI design, a passion for solving complex problems, and experience working in an agile environment. You will be responsible for conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, defining information architecture, developing UI components, collaborating with developers, and staying up-to-date with industry trends. This position is open to South Africa applicants only and requires working hours from 3pm to 11pm South Africa Standard Time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional development experience
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with user research methods and usability testing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing your UX/UI design process and projects
  • Examples of user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs
  • A passion for solving customer problems with a team that’s just as passionate as you

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
  • Analyze user feedback and behavior to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to illustrate design concepts
  • Define information architecture and interaction design
  • Develop visually appealing and consistent UI components and patterns
  • Maintain and evolve our design system
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
  • Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and prioritize design tasks
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and gather feedback
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries
  • Experience with designing for SaaS products
  • Knowledge of design systems
