Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in direct response fundraising, communications, and/or marketing for nonprofit organizations or aligned agencies, with a strong focus on business development and sales
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
  • Experience leading client relationships with a strategic, results-driven mindset
  • Strong track record of managing cross-functional project teams and high-profile client accounts
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade senior stakeholders
  • Passion for mission-driven work and the ability to connect organizations with solutions that maximize impact

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective nonprofit and political clients in need of digital and direct response fundraising services
  • Drive new business acquisition through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement
  • Develop analysis to identify and define new clients in MissionWire’s addressable market
  • Activate and enhance sector-specific business expansion strategies
  • Represent MissionWired at conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand our influence and attract potential clients
  • Serve as a public-facing representative of MissionWired, presenting at industry conferences, panel discussions, and thought leadership events
  • Generate and manage Digital Co-Op and related product sales relationships with both nonprofit and political organizations
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and refine sales strategies, ensuring alignment with industry trends and organizational goals
  • Develop compelling proposals and lead pitch engagements to secure new partnerships
  • Monitor key trends in the nonprofit fundraising space and associated market dynamics
  • Foster relationships with industry influencers, partners, and stakeholders to increase visibility and credibility in the market
  • Partner with clients to develop innovative, high-impact digital and direct response fundraising, advocacy, and communications strategies
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute campaigns across digital channels, including email, web, social media, SMS, search, and direct mail
  • Provide clients with strategic marketing planning, revenue forecasting, and industry best practices
  • Assess client KPIs to ensure maximum ROI and impact of campaigns
  • Work closely with internal teams—including creative and technology—to align personnel and technical resources with client needs
  • Ensure outstanding customer service through regular reporting and proactive client communication
  • Collaborate with the accounts leadership team to structure the department around business growth, client needs, and team development
  • Drive initiatives that refine and advance agency culture, DEIB goals, and staff experience
  • Align agency resources with business priorities to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness
