Join Avicado Construction Technology Services as a Software Strategy and Tools Lead to drive the selection, design, implementation, and optimization of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) within our global data center construction operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of construction technology and data-driven decision-making to enhance project efficiency and automation. You will lead a remote team, partner with stakeholders, develop business cases, and act as a liaison between various teams and leadership. You will also develop and maintain a construction technology roadmap, negotiate software licensing, and lead PMIS implementation. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience in change management, and the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction technology, software implementation, or project management systems within large-scale capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of PMIS platforms (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Oracle Primavera Unifier, e-Builder, etc.)
  • Experience in data center, industrial, or infrastructure construction environments
  • Demonstrated success in leading software selection, implementation, and enterprise integration initiatives
  • Understanding of construction processes, scheduling, cost controls, and contract management
  • Expertise in API integrations, data governance, and automation for construction workflows
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Experience in change management, user training, and adoption strategies
  • Quick adaptability to rapidly grasp and excel in new technical projects
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and proven ability to adapt well and work with various team styles

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate PMIS and related technology solutions to support data center construction project lifecycle, from planning to commissioning. Ensure the selected technologies drive efficiency, collaboration, and data-driven insights across a large construction portfolio
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define system requirements, user needs, and process workflows. Ability to make recommendations and leverage industry best practices to ensure timely decisions are made to ensure a speedy and smooth implementation
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for tool adoption and investment decisions
  • Act as the primary liaison between construction teams, project controls, IT, vendors, and executive leadership to proactively update software strategy and PMIS implementation
  • Develop and maintain an overall construction technology roadmap. Provide regular updates to the clientโ€™s leadership team and internal consulting team
  • Partner with procurement and contract teams to negotiate software licensing, service agreements, and implementation timelines
  • Lead and drive the design, configuration, and implementation of selected PMIS solutions, ensuring alignment with project management workflows and enterprise architecture
  • Integrate PMIS with enterprise platforms such as ERP, BIM, scheduling (P6), and document management systems
  • Define and enforce data governance standards, ensuring consistency and accuracy across platforms
  • Establish role-based access, security protocols, and compliance standards
  • Ability to partner with the Account Leadership team to identify and capture growth opportunities within the clientโ€™s data center design and construction program

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in construction technology or project management systems (PMIS) for data centers, mission critical or infrastructure projects
  • Experience is PMIS selection and new implementations
  • Expertise in either Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or Trimble Unity Construct (f.k.a e-Builder)
