Software Architect

Summary

Join 66degrees, a leading consulting firm specializing in AI-focused solutions, as a senior contractor for a 21-week remote assignment (40 hours/week) with potential extension. This role requires extensive experience in microservices architecture, cloud-native application development, and software architecture design. You will need proficiency in Java and at least one other language (JavaScript, Python, or Typescript), along with GCP experience (or equivalent). Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is experience in professional services/consulting. The position demands expertise in both front-end and back-end development, with a stronger emphasis on back-end development. Successful candidates will also demonstrate experience with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Scrum and Git.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing microservices architecture
• 5+ years of experience in designing architecture
• Deep knowledge of software architecture in distributed systems
• 5+ years of experience in developing cloud-native applications
• Experience in both front-end and back-end development (must have deeper experience in backend development, but familiarity and exposure with full-stack development required)
• Proficient in Java
• Proficient in one of the following: JavaScript, Python, or Typescript
• Proficiency in developing applications on the Google Cloud Platform suite of products and services (or equivalent cloud), primarily with serverless architectures
• Familiar with unit testing and test-driven development (TDD)
• Familiar with the scrum process and Git
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery
• Background in professional services/consulting
• Strong communication skills
• Eager to work in a collaborative environment
