Software Architect

Join 66degrees, a leading consulting firm, as a Senior Architect for a 3+ month remote contract with extension potential. This role requires a strong Java background and extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications in a cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in microservices architecture and 5+ years in cloud-native application development. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing microservices architecture
• 5+ years of experience in designing architecture
• Proficiency in Java and Springboot
• Deep knowledge of software architecture in distributed systems
• 5+ years of experience in developing cloud-native applications
• Experience in both front-end and back-end development (must have deeper experience in backend development, but familiarity and exposure with full-stack development required)
• Familiarity with unit testing and test-driven development (TDD)
• Familiarity with the scrum process and Git
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery
• Background in professional services/consulting
• Strong communication skills
• Eager to work in a teamwork/collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement microservices architecture
• Design architecture
• Develop applications on the Google Cloud Platform
• Conduct code reviews
• Mentor software engineers
• Develop cloud-native applications
• Develop applications with both front-end and back-end development (deeper experience in backend development required)
• Utilize unit testing and test-driven development (TDD)
• Work with the scrum process and Git
• Establish CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Accountable for App dependencies (e.g. 3rd party restful calls, Kafka, Database, and Ping)
• Experience developing applications on the Google Cloud Platform suite of products and services
