Summary

The job is for an Infrastructure Engineer at Platform Science in San Diego, CA. The role involves designing, maintaining, and supporting cloud infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and other tools. The employee will be expected to participate in a 24/7 on-call shift schedule.

Requirements

• Advanced operational knowledge of AWS infrastructure (Azure, GCP nice to have)
• Effective scripting abilities (e.g. bash, Python, Golang)
• Strong desire to automate and create standard frameworks
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Atlantis)
• Kubernetes and containerization best practices (EKS)
• Experience with monitoring and observability of applications (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Datadog)
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
• Emphasis on documentation and knowledge sharing

Responsibilities

• Provide highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure
• Build foundational infrastructure for other teams to deploy and run their applications
• Look for ways to reduce toil through scripting and automation
• Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity
• Help to define and improve our standards for maintainability and best practices
