Software Development Engineer, Testing

Summary

Join Algotale as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) and contribute to building highly reliable distributed systems. This is a full-time, remote position requiring 1-3 years of experience and immediate availability. You will be responsible for setting up and implementing test automation strategies, creating test plans, and managing test coverage. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in API testing (manual and automation), database design, and working with tools like AWS, Kafka, Redis, and DDB. Experience with Java, TestNG, Maven, and other related technologies is required. This role demands independent execution, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of design patterns.

Requirements

• Be an Independent executioner and have prior experience in handling complex projects with stakeholders
• Have prior experience in creating optimal test strategy (Including Functional, Non-Functional, Analytics, and automation) and test plans for short-term and long-term projects
• Be strong in verbal and written communication
• Have very good design skills
• Have understanding and implementation-level experience with design patterns
• Have prior experience in creating test automation frameworks and self-serve tools
• Have prior automation experience for REST-based web services using Java (TestNG, maven, httpclient, Rest Assured, JAXB, JAXRS, Jersey, Jackson, Jmeter)
• Have strong hands-on experience in functional and non-functional automation, both for Web, REST services
• Be strong in writing complex SQL queries using joins
• Have hands-on experience in designing database schemas for self-serve utilities
• Have good API testing experience, including both manual and automation testing

Responsibilities

• Set up and implement test automation strategy from a Functional and Non-functional perspective for one module or multiple modules
• Create optimal test strategy (Including Functional, Non-Functional, Analytics, and automation) and test plans for short-term and long-term projects
• Manage and maintain test coverage through periodic reports to engineering and stakeholders
• Find innovative ways to optimize the test strategy for maximizing ROI from areas that are undertaken for automation
• Add new capabilities and features in the automation framework, which is used by the entire QA team for test automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Have more hands-on experience on the backend with tools like AWS, Kafka, Redis, DDB
• Have prior experience and exposure to Big Data and Data science models’ implementation
