Summary

Join Bitstamp's Finance Division as a Mid/Senior Software Engineer and be part of a dynamic team shaping the crypto industry. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems using Python or Go. This role requires strong backend development experience, a solid understanding of financial systems, and proficiency in SQL and relational databases. Mentoring junior developers and applying software development best practices are key responsibilities. Requirements

  • Professional knowledge and experience of backend development (Python/Go, Django)
  • Solid understanding of bank transactions, payments systems and accounting principles
  • Solid knowledge and experience with SQL and relational database (MySQL)
  • Communications skills (to developers, product owners, agents, external providers)
  • Experience with understanding business problems and prepare solution for it
  • Know how to structure the project, decompose it to tasks, define timeline
  • Successful track record of developing quality software products and shipping production ready software
  • Functional knowledge of working with Linux systems and Docker environment
  • Experience with development best-practices (test driven development, code reviews, tech specs)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to take a pragmatic approach in solving complex programming problems
  • Active knowledge of the English language and good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance backend systems using languages such as Python or Go (depends on seniority)
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that follows software engineering best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior back-end developers, providing technical expertise, and fostering their professional growth
  • Apply software development best practices such as unit testing, code review, test automation and continuous delivery to produce high quality software
  • Prepare detailed design documents and testing strategies according to requirements
