Software Engineer

Summary

Join our agile distributed team building and optimizing customer experiences for multiple energy products and services. This role within the Consumer technology area lets you own and ship new features used daily by our client's customers. You'll work within the ZCL Home team, collaborating with backend and full-stack developers on various integrations. You'll build reusable components and platform capabilities, working on experiences across existing and new product launches. Requirements

• Have strong experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end development with Node.js and TypeScript
• Have experience with Terraform and AWS
• Have a desire to learn how to build resilient, scalable, and secure systems
• Have a passion for technical excellence
• Be able to efficiently comprehend new systems and dive into technical issues
• Be adaptable and flexible when dealing with change and ambiguity
• Be able to interpret and communicate information in a clear and concise manner to others (technical/non-technical team members etc.)
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Have a Bachelor or higher degree in computer science (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Develop new features by designing and implementing them using the appropriate principles and design patterns
• Maintain existing code and write automation tests to ensure a high standard of quality
• Diagnose and fix critical bugs and improve performances
• Write documentation for new and existing features
• Coordinate with other team members and the product team

Preferred Qualifications

• Have familiarity with Test Driven Development
• Have experience with Kafka
