Software Engineer

Summary

Join dbt Labs' new Cloud Signals team in Romania as a senior technical leader to shape the platform integration strategy for dbt Cloud. You will design and implement new platform capabilities, ensuring robust integration points for customers. Collaborate with customers and the broader engineering organization to deliver scalable solutions. This role involves evolving dbt’s architecture, contributing to dbt Cloud's terraform provider, advocating for software engineering best practices, and developing a robust software framework. You will also mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

• Have minimum 3 years experience as a software engineer
• Previous experience with SaaS products (SOA preferred)
• Minimum requirement of Bachelors degree in related field (computer science, computer engineering, etc.)
• Have an excellent level of English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Evolve dbt’s architecture to keep up with our fast growing customer base and scaling needs
• Be a key contributor to the development of dbt Cloud and its terraform provider
• Be an advocate for software engineering best practices
• Develop a robust software framework for seamlessly developing application platform features into dbt Cloud
• Collaborate closely with the OSS community, product teams, and other stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Have strong fundamentals in a variety of software development paradigms (e.g. object oriented, functional)
• Have worked on distributed systems at scale
• Are comfortable managing ambiguity and driving clarity and innovation
• Understand how to make tradeoffs to ship useful features today without sacrificing long-term quality
• Are highly motivated and able to build alignment across stakeholders
• Value interacting with end users and deeply understanding their needs
• Have experience working with Rust
• Have worked on growing teams developing in a large OSS code base
• Have worked with notification (e.g. email, Slack, others) systems
• Have direct experience with using dbt
• Have experience working on a distributed team
