Summary
Join Emplifi as a Software Engineer and contribute to building and maintaining applications and back-end services for user-generated content (UGC) within the Commerce group. You will primarily focus on web services built with JavaScript (Marionette/React) and Ruby on Rails, ensuring scalability and quality of performance. This role requires a deep technical understanding of the system and products, working closely with Design, Product, and DevOps to develop and maintain embedded content galleries and management dashboards used by major brands worldwide. This remote/hybrid position is based in the Czech Republic.
Requirements
- Mid-level developer who likes technical challenges and is willing to learn about various technologies in full-stack development
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or other similar MVC frameworks, like Django, Laravel, Spring, etc.)
- Work experience with either Javascript or Typescript
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch)
- Very proactive approach to solving problems
- Fluent written and spoken English
Responsibilities
- Work closely with designers, PMs, and engineers to tackle challenging problems in the e-commerce and content marketing space, and lead feature projects from start to finish
- Use your experience to expand engineering best practices, tooling, QA/testing, documentation, and other key processes for our growing team
- Lead projects across a variety of UGC services, including scalable back-end APIs, beautiful consumer-facing galleries, and our curation platform, just to name a few
- Consistently challenge and influence the direction of our product offerings with confidence through both technical and user-focused thinking
- Leverage your expertise across the entire tech stack to build and improve our Rails and JavaScript-based applications at scale
- Communicate clearly with the product management team and architects to ensure that our customers are getting maximum value from all of our product offerings
- Apply your infrastructure and scripting knowledge to support team-wide DevOps initiatives and engineer enablement work
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Python and Scala is an advantage
- Work experience with React.js is an advantage
- Bonus: Understanding and developing on E-commerce platform (Shopify, Magento, etc)
