Remote Software Engineer

Join our innovative team at HONK as a fully remote Software Engineer and contribute to various projects, working closely with full-stack engineers and UI/UX experts.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, HTML, Javascript, and RESTful API development

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of full-stack engineers to build and enhance products across the stack
• Develop back-end Ruby on Rails dispatch applications and RESTful APIs
• Collaborate with the UI/UX team to create new user experiences and extend web applications
• Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our real-time, location-based systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across our platforms quickly and efficiently
• Stay current with new technologies and be eager to learn and apply new skills
• Contribute to our agile development process, iterating quickly and pushing code frequently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time systems, location-based services, and/or telephony apps (e.g., Twilio) is a plus
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (Redis)
• Familiarity with system scalability, performance management, and agile methodologies
• Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools, and project management software (Jira, Bitbucket)

Benefits
