Software Engineer

Summary

Join Mediagenix Spain's Product team as a mid-to-senior Software Engineer in a fully remote position based in Spain. The team develops tools for video-on-demand platforms, focusing on planning, organization, and publishing of programming. You will collaborate with a cross-functional squad to deliver new features, fix bugs, and maintain application reliability. Responsibilities include implementing features, enhancing UI, breaking down tasks, resolving performance issues, and writing documentation. The ideal candidate possesses solid experience building digital products and is comfortable with (or curious about) their tech stack (Ruby on Rails, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Vue.js, Hotwire). A collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and a commitment to quality are essential.

Requirements

• You have solid experience building digital products: websites, platforms, or apps
• You’re comfortable with (or curious about) our stack: Ruby on Rails, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Vue.js, Hotwire
• You believe in writing tests and understand their value in building reliable software
• You’re empathetic, curious, and a clear communicator
• You enjoy working independently but know when to ask for help or pair up
• You’re organized, self-motivated, and care about your team’s success as much as your own

Responsibilities

• Implement a new filter in our Elasticsearch-powered search UI
• Enhance parts of our user interface using modern JavaScript (or frameworks like Stimulus or Vue)
• Break down a major feature into smaller, manageable tasks, with proper documentation and time estimates
• Investigate and resolve performance issues in our Sidekiq workers
• Write clear, developer-friendly documentation for a new REST API endpoint
