Summary
Join Mysten Labs' Interop team, a systems-focused group extending the Data Platform team's responsibilities to support various RPC and data-heavy services built on Sui. The team will own horizontal systems interfacing with the Sui network, including RPC nodes, and support verticals across different teams. You will contribute to the design and implementation of a large distributed system, focusing on secure systems design and evaluation. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, fluency in a systems language (like Rust or C++), and expertise in areas such as networking, distributed systems, or databases. Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience in hands-on software engineering, including methodologies to ensure correctness and performance of implemented components
- Be fluent in a systemsβ language such as Rust which is used within Mysten or C++ etc
- Had a substantial role in the design and implementation of a large distributed system
- Have experience with the design and evaluation of secure systems, incl. secure programming, appropriate use of cryptography, and prevention of DoS attacks
- Be fluent in writing design documentation as well as participating in technical discussions and reviews synchronously, asynchronously, in person or remotely
- Have a level of expertise in one or more of networking, distributed systems, storage, databases, operating systems, and runtimes to be able to read research papers in the field and design systems based on them
- Have a lay personsβ interest in open, decentralized, permissionless technologies, and the intersection of contemporary technology, economics, finance and governance
Responsibilities
Own horizontal systems that interface directly with the Sui network β such as the Sui RPC nodes and support verticals that span teams including Cryptography, Move Platform, and Walrus by productionizing their externally-facing services
