Software Engineer

Summary

Join Owkin's K product team as a Software Engineer and contribute to building a virtual assistant system for biomedical researchers. You will design, implement, and maintain microservices, including large language model components and visualization capabilities for omics data. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and scientists to implement features benefiting drug discovery practitioners. Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and development workflows, and participate in incident response. The position is based in Paris or Nantes offices or remotely in France. Owkin values a "can-do" mindset and autonomy in learning and delivering.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a software engineer working on production applicative stack
• Experience with a microservices architecture deployed in a cloud-based infrastructure
• Demonstrated attention to quality and software engineering processes, including observability and security: we run what we build
• Experience with python
• Full professional proficiency in English: our team is distributed across Europe

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain microservices including large language models components (agents, tools, retrieval-augmented generation) and visualisation capabilities for omics (genomics, transciptomics, proteomics) data
• Contribute to the evolution of the architecture to support deeper omics analyses and enhance reasoning capabilities
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and scientists to implement features that benefit drug discovery practitioners
• Support and improve our CI/CD pipelines, development workflows
• Participate in incident response to ensure high availability and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building AI Engineering / LLM-based systems
• Experience in building machine-learning based systems
• Familiarity with omics data or other medical data modalities
